API rate limits and errors
How many requests a minute, and what comes back when something goes wrong.
Available on: Business
A Business workspace can make 600 API requests a minute. The count is per workspace, so more keys do not buy more requests. A lapsed plan reads at 30 a minute. Every response to a key carries X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining and X-RateLimit-Reset, and a 429 carries Retry-After.
The same failing request, from one key, is refused after 10 failures in a minute. Fix what is failing, or wait.
Every error has the same shape: a stable code, a message written to be shown to a person, and a request id.
