Get an API key

1. Open Settings, Developers.
2. Create a key, choose what it may do, and copy it. It is shown once and stored as a hash, so keep it somewhere safe.
3. Send it on every request as Authorization: Bearer ptk_...

Owners have API key access, and an owner can give it to an admin. Keys are scoped: creating documents takes documents:write, and listing or fetching them takes documents:read. To replace a key without stopping anything, rotate it: the new key has the same access and the old one keeps working until you revoke it.
