What counts as a scan

One scan is one document read in a calendar month, whether it came from an upload, an email or the API. Each file in a ZIP is a scan of its own. Sending the exact same file again uses no scan, because there is nothing new to read.

When you reach your limit, new documents are refused until the next calendar month, or until you move to a larger plan. There are no overage charges, and everything you already have stays available.
